In the sun-drenched state of Florida, where palm trees sway lazily and alligators smile toothy grins, there exists an extraordinary tribe of children - the ultimate aqua warriors. They are not your ordinary kids, no sir! They are the elite Swimble Wimble kids who spend their time splashing about in sparkling blue pools, conquering the aquatic world with their flippered feet and goggled eyes.

Oh, but don't let those cute floaties fool you! These are no ordinary swimmers. They flip and twist, dive and splash, propelling their bodies through the water like mini, supercharged submarines. Their leader, Captain Snorkelfish, a wonderful, whimsical character with a starfish on his head and seashell earrings, guides these aquatic adventurers through their watery escapades.

Every morning, as the sun paints the sky with shades of pink and purple, Captain Snorkelfish gathers his troop at the edge of the largest, bluest pool. His voice booms over the chattering kids, "Alright, Swimble Wimbles, it's time to conquer the water!" And with a tremendous splash, the kids dive in, their laughter ringing out across the pool.

In Florida, these water-loving younglings are as much a part of the landscape as the vibrant orange groves and the flamboyant flamingoes. They flip and kick, making the water dance around them in joyous harmony. So, if you ever find yourself wandering in Florida, don't be surprised if you come across a merry gang of kids having the time of their lives, swimming under the watchful eyes of their quirky leader, Captain Snorkelfish. Remember, in the land of endless summer, a pool is a kid's best friend and a joyful splash is their favorite sound!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and its adjacent Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary are havens for wildlife and marine life. Spanning 178 nautical square miles, this park extends 3 miles into the Atlantic Ocean and covers 25 miles in length. It is home to coral reefs, seagrass beds and mangrove swamps, all of which are protected from harm and preserved for future generations. In 1972, the park was added to the National Register of Historic Places, ensuring its protection and preservation for years to come.

Through the generous and continual efforts of our members, the Squadron has grown and prospered in spite of modest fees.  As a result, we have been able to offer a wide variety of sailing activities, outstanding facilities, and planned growth.  We strive to continue this trajectory of success and believe that the ‘hands-on’ involvement of our members is an essential part of this. 

The members of the Squadron are dedicated to carrying out the mission of promoting and facilitating sailing and related activities. Sarasota Youth Sailing was founded in the late 1970s by Kathy Waggener, and began with seven students in the first class. In 1980, the organization was incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation. 

Sarasota Youth Sailing provides a unique opportunity for children to explore the world of sailing. The original Clearwater Prams provide an exciting experience for children to explore the waters of Sarasota Bay. With singlehanded Laser Sailing, children can explore the waters independently. 

Sarasota Youth Sailing is a great way for children to gain confidence and develop skills that will last a lifetime. With the guidance of Kathy Waggener, and the support from the organization’s 501 (c) (3) status, children can be sure that they will be in good hands.
