At Parents Magazine, we believe that education should be the process of teaching children about the truths and realities of life. Education that is focused on the Word of God is the only way to ensure that children are equipped and prepared for productive citizenship. We firmly believe that the success of a society doesn’t lie in additional funding or policing, but in the educational system itself. To teach without the knowledge of God is blasphemy, and will lead to a society without moral or ethical standards, and ultimately destruction. We believe that the solution to societal ills is true education, and that the only way to achieve this is by focusing on the teachings outlined in the Word of God.

In Pre-School we use Christian curricula from A Beka and BJU that is designed to help the total growth process of a student by providing a curriculum that is able to provide the fundamentals of Christianity as well as knowledge of the subject matter.

We also use Footsteps for Fours presents active, hands-on learning and includes a balance of individual activities as well as suggested group activities. Daily math, phonics, and prereading lessons are interspersed with age-appropriate music, science, language arts, social studies, and handwriting segments. Footsteps for Fours is a 5-day program designed for use in full- or half-day programs. It offers flexibility for all types of learners at all stages of learning.

Your preschool students will be eager for each new lesson and its accompanying stories, songs, and activities. Footsteps for Fours presents interactive, hands-on learning—with an emphasis on having fun together as a class. Daily math, phonics, and prereading lessons are interspersed with age-appropriate music, science, language arts, heritage studies, and handwriting segments.



PRE-SCHOOL 

Welcome to the elementary school of The Potters House Christian Academy, consisting of grades 1 – 6.  We offer a traditional academic setting using the Abeka, Positive Action Curriculum, along with a rich opportunity of resources classes including Drama, Video Production, Music, Library, Computer, and PE taught by certified experienced educators. At the elementary level extra-curricular activities are limited to awards day, Christmas program, Cultural Awareness program, Black History Program, Thanksgiving Luncheon, Spring Carnival, Chapel, field trips, Book Fairs, Celebrity Readers, Movie days, Dress Down Days, and field day.

Our Middle School provides a safe, yet welcoming environment where children are nurtured academically, emotionally, and spiritually.  The 7th through 8th grades are often considered the most difficult years for children due to the rapid life changes, peer pressure, and increasingly challenging school work.  We make it safe for children to grow and flourish in a nurturing Christ-centered atmosphere.  We are committed not only to educating the whole child--mind, body, and soul--but to finding and developing each child’s unique, God-given talents and gifts. We provide positive reinforcement, cultivate a strong social and academic setting, and teach the importance of personal responsibility to help prepare students for the rigors of high school and adulthood.
