Our commitment to excellence goes beyond just books and classrooms. We provide our students with resources and guidance to help them develop into well-rounded individuals. We recognize that each student has the potential for greatness, and we are dedicated to helping them reach it.
Gulf Stream School’s pre-kindergarten philosophy is rooted in teaching the whole-child. We define whole-child education as a method for stimulating a child’s academic, social, physical and emotional growth. Our multi-age program encourages children to interact with peers who are in various stages of development, which is effective for promoting a strong sense of communal learning between and among the children. At one moment a child may be acquiring beneficial skills and aptitudes by observing an older classmate, in the next moment that same child may be exemplifying those new competencies to his or her peers. Older students begin to develop and practice leadership skills, while increasing their self-confidence and empathy.

Arts Programs
While Pre-K and Kindergarten programs are used to provide students with a solid arts foundation, the lower and middle school programs really allow them to enhance and showcase their skills with courses such as music perception, performance and response; art media and technology; theatrical performances; and formal speech preparation and presentation.

ATHLETICS PROGRAMS
In addition to the health benefits of physical education, our programs also provide students with opportunities for social interaction and help develop cooperative and problem-solving skills. Programs are customized for each grade level and students are assessed multiple times throughout the year in order to monitor development. Middle school students will have the opportunity to participate in team sports and competitions.
