In the sunshine-soaked state of Florida, where palm trees sway like dancing ballerinas and oranges fall from trees like tiny sunsets, there exists a band of wild-eyed, straight-shooting, arrow-slinging children. These kids, known far and wide as the 'Bowstring Buccaneers', are the finest archers from Miami to Tallahassee, their arrows whistle through the air faster than a thunderbolt!

The leader of this quirky crew is a tall, lanky boy named Freddie 'Fletch' Fletcher. With a mop of flaming red hair and freckles scattered across his nose like the Milky Way, Fletch is as funny as a flamingo doing the floss. Imagine if Robin Hood and a flamingo had a wild, hilarious baby – that would be Fletch. His arrows don't just fly; they whizz through the air, crackling with energy, zipping by startled flamingos, and hit the bullseye so hard it screams for mercy!

But it's not all serious shooting for these Bowstring Buccaneers. They celebrate each bullseye with a whoop that echoes through the Floridian marshlands and high-five with their bows. They even have a secret handshake that involves a lot of elbow-twisting, bow-twirling, and ends in an explosion of giggles.

So, if ever you find yourself in Florida, where the sun always shines brighter than a blushing orange and silly seagulls play tag with the waves, listen for the whooshing whistle of an arrow and the laughter of the Bowstring Buccaneers. You never know, they might just let you join their band of merry, arrow-slinging adventurers!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

The Li'l Abner Foundation is dedicated to providing the resources and support needed to help our community thrive. Founded in 2009, we have seen a great deal of growth in the number of programs and participants, and recently moved to a larger and better location. Our efforts have resulted in a beneficial impact on the community, with more than 20,000 members of the City of Sweetwater benefitting from our programs. 

We provide not only recreational and educational programs, but also scholarships to help those in our community reach their full potential. Our scholarship program for children offers the opportunity for them to attend Belen Jesuit Preparatory School from 6th to 12th grades. We also offer scholarships for adults to attend Florida International University, with up to 5 years of tuition covered. 

At the Li'l Abner Foundation, our mission is to provide positive and beneficial impacts to our community, with the ultimate goal of improving the lives of all residents. We are proud of the growth and success we have seen so far, and remain committed to continuing our work and helping our community thrive.

This brand new YMCA opened its doors back in January 2019 and is LEED Gold Certified. The Hillsborough County Planning Commission even awarded the building with a design award in Fall 2019.

The Spurlino Family Y offers a safe and fun environment for adults and children alike. Kids can join the reading club for little ones, or take part in the youth sports and swim lessons offered. Conductive Education provides a comprehensive approach to helping these students develop the physical and cognitive abilities needed to reach their potential.

Conductive Education has been helping children with motor disorders for more than 70 years. What began in a humble New York City apartment with just a single student, Spark, has since blossomed into an enriching program impacting thousands of children. Our unique educational approach combines the elements of art, yoga, meditation, and nature to create a holistic learning environment. This distinctive blend is what sets Spark apart, allowing us to reach and inspire a multitude of children in truly meaningful ways.

With an array of offerings to accommodate various schedules and needs, Spark has something for everyone. Our services extend beyond the standard after school and weekend classes to include holiday and summer camps, birthday parties, portfolio preparation, private classes, and custom pods. We also welcome homeschool groups and are thrilled to announce the recent addition of a forest school program to our repertoire.

You can find Spark on-site in various schools and at our main studio located in the Upper West Side. But we're not stopping there - we're also planning to expand to the Upper East Side and Brooklyn. For our families in Pennsylvania, we run the program from our family studio there. And if you're not in close proximity to any of our locations, don't worry. We offer in-home instruction and virtual options to ensure that Spark can reach you, no matter where you are.
