At Florida Diabetes Camp, kids can swim, play sports, explore nature, gain self-confidence and improve their diabetes self-management skills.
Our expert staff of pediatric endocrinologists and diabetes educators are dedicated to giving kids with type 1 diabetes the opportunity to have a great time while learning about their diabetes management. During the scheduled diabetes education sessions, children are motivated to learn self-care, independence in diabetes management and good self-esteem. They will gain the confidence, skills and knowledge to achieve their full potential and make the most out of their camp experience.

Fun Sports Camp
Fun Sports Camp is for campers ages 15 to 18 to try out different sports while learning teamwork, and gaining independence in diabetes care. The campers stay at Rotary’s Camp Florida in Brandon, FL and bus to different venues each day. Activities are under the direction of various college coaches or certified instructors and include martial arts, volleyball, soccer, golf, basketball, tennis, and softball. Planned night activities include roller skating, bowling, and a night at Tropicana Field watching the Tampa Bay Rays play ball.

Tallahassee Area Camp
This camp is for children age 7 through 12 (grades 2 through 5), designed for campers from northern Florida, southern Georgia and Alabama, this five day camp is under the medical direction of doctors and nurses from Tallahassee and the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Diabetes Center. Activities offered for this camp include sports, swimming, arts and crafts, and diabetes education. Location for 2022 and beyond is to be determined. After 20 years of service to Florida Diabetes Camp and other camps Centenary Camp in Quincy, Florida was sold to a private company in April 2021 and will no longer be hosting outside groups.

“Pee-Wee” Camp
This camp is for youngsters ages 5 to 9 and designed to give them their first taste of summer camp while making friendships that will last a lifetime! This camp was created with little ones in mind, so activities are specifically tailored toward young children. Campers learn about nature, how to swim, diabetes management and more. Daily visits from the story lady, and different carnival events each night provide the kids with the genuine camp feel they are sure not to forget.
