About Delray Beach Public Library in Delray Beach, FL

The library’s story begins in 1913, when the Ladies Improvement Association established the library. In 1938, the Delray Beach Public Library Association was founded as a non-profit corporation to provide public library services to the community. For the past 70 years, Delray Beach Public Library has provided library services to its patrons through an effective public-private partnership between the City of Delray Beach and the Library Association. The City of Delray Beach has provided a major portion of the library’s annual operating budget, while the Library Association has raised funds for capital needs. The Library Association is committed to providing quality library services and resources to meet the evolving needs and expectations of its patrons. Through its commitment to excellence in library services, the Library Association has become an integral part of the community and has grown to become a vibrant and respected institution in Delray Beach.

Young @ Art

Young @ Art Meets 1st & 3rd Wednesdays @3:30 PM, beginning September 7th. Ages 5 - 7. Join us at the library for Young @Art in our new art studio! Children ages 5 – 7 will create fun arts and crafts while learning the principles of art. Led by local artist Caitlin Frown (www.cfrown.com), this class is sure to delight. Remember to wear clothes that allow artistic freedom!

STEAM Stars

Join Ms. Ysa every other Saturday to explore a variety of S.T.E.A.M. inspired activities and hands-on exploration. During “STEAM Stars Presents... Robotics,” students will explore different robots and basic coding during our labs (no prior coding experience is necessary). During STEAM Stars Presents... Engineer Lab,” students will utilize design thinking process when solving a problem using edtech tools such as Lego, Little Bits, and AR/VR.

Space Camp

Space Camp. Ages 8-12. Meets every other Saturday starting September 17th @10:30 AM – 12:30 PM. Join Mr. Kevin and run your space agency from the ground to the stars! We will learn about the basics of rocketry, orbital mechanics, and the value of doing science in space! Using “Kerbal Space Program”, a fun space simulator, building your spacecraft is easy even if the physics may be tough. Attendance of each session is not required but the more you come, the farther you fly!
