At ISR, we keep your child’s safety as our top priority. Our unique survival swimming lessons are tailored to your child’s individual needs based on comprehensive assessments and close monitoring of their progress. We understand that every child learns at their own pace and your child will be carefully guided through each skill level based on their development and readiness.

ISR was founded by Harvey Barnett, Ph.D., in 1966. Barnett was motivated to put an end to the preventable tragedy of childhood drowning after witnessing the aftermath of a neighbor’s 9-month-old son reaching the water alone. Since then, ISR has been committed to the mission of No More Child Drownings.

Your child is gently introduced to the water by your Instructor. As each child reacts differently, your Instructor will work with your child to guide him through the lesson process and to build a level of trust and comfort in the water. 

6-12 Months Old

You've seen it before, your toddler walks right to the edge of the pool, ready to jump in, whether or not you are there to catch him. His confidence is beyond his skills. ISR training for children between 1 and 6 years of age uses their confidence to help them build competence and the skills for survival.
