Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or BJJ is a martial art and combat sport that combines fundamentals and techniques from Judo and traditional Jiu-Jitsu. With an emphasis on grappling and submission holds, BJJ focuses on the skills needed to force opponents to the ground and gain control and a dominant position to ultimately force them into submission.
The physical benefits of BJJ are well-documented and studied. It can help increase strength, cardio, balance and flexibility, as well as promote weight loss and improve muscle tone. Karate
Karate is a centuries-old martial arts discipline developed in the Ryukyu Kingdom of Okinawa, Japan. The word karate translates to “empty hand” in Japanese and focuses on kicking, striking, and defense blocks with both the arms and legs.
Karate students use striking surfaces like the hands, feet, elbow, and knees to concentrate their body’s power on the point of impact on their opponents. As you may have seen in movies, karate may utilize padded surfaces or wood to help students toughen their blows against an opponent. However, karate trains the mind and spirit as well by teaching students patience, self-discipline, and mindfulness to better defend themselves in any given situation.

Krav Maga is a self-defense system developed for the Israel Defense Forces and Israeli security forces. Krav Maga adapts techniques from a variety of other self-defense and fighting styles like boxing, wrestling, judo, aikido, and karate to teach students effective tactics for self-defense.
Unlike other fighting styles which can often be described as sport, it focuses on real-world situations to equip students with the most efficient self-defense techniques. It has been called “The Art of Staying Alive” due to its emphasis on self-defense and survival.

Muay Thai
Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand and directly translates to Thai boxing. This stand-up striking sport, known as the “art of eight limbs,” utilizes the fists, knees, elbows, and shins to wear down opponents.
Like many other martial arts, Muay Thai offers great cardiovascular and strength training, as well as increased mental sharpness by teaching students how to outmaneuver opponents. Muay Thai employs the the 8-points of contact in a full body workout that will teach students both attacking and self-defense skills.
