Once upon a time, in the heart and hustle of Washington D.C., a group of children embarked on a green-thumb adventure. These kids weren't your average superheroes, they were sprout-sprouting, worm-wrangling, garden-gangling superheroes! They roamed the urban jungle with trowels in hand and sunflower seeds in their pockets, ready to turn every empty patch into a blooming wonderland. Leading this bunch was a peculiar character. He was a scruffy scarecrow named Senator Scare, who had hopped off his post on a nearby farm. Senator Scare, with his straw hat and patchwork suit, was as funny as they came. His eyes were made from a mis-matched pair of buttons, one blue, one red, a tribute to the politics in D.C. He had a knack for telling corny jokes that would have everyone, including the crows, falling off their perches laughing! "Did you hear about the tomato that turned red?" he once asked, a twinkle in his button eyes. "It saw the salad dressing!" The children would howl with laughter, clutching their bellies, their laughter echoing down the streets. In the heart of the city, where skyscrapers reached for the heavens and busy people buzzed about, these D.C. kids, with the help of their funny friend, Senator Scare, made magic. They turned forgotten corners into thriving vegetable patches and bland balconies into sunflower sanctuaries. And though they were just kids, they were transforming their city, one garden at a time, into a place as colorful and vibrant as their imaginations.

Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. Whether you're planning a camp, a retreat, or a team-building excursion, our serene setting and well-equipped facilities provide the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable experience.
