Once upon a time, in the bustling heart of the United States, lay a tiny state known as Washington DC. This isn't just any state, oh no! It's the place where the President sleeps and where laws are made while everyone else is eating their sandwiches. Here, amongst towering monuments and white-washed buildings, lived a quirky, jaunty character named Captain Craycray. Now Captain Craycray wasn't your average Joe. He wore a pirate hat with multicolor feathers, donned a jacket of sparkling sequins, and sported neon-orange wellies. But the most eccentric thing about him was his love for boating and canoeing in the Potomac River. Yes, friends, right in the middle of this jostling city, Captain Craycray found his aquatic haven. Every sunny afternoon, he would gather a gaggle of energetic young whippersnappers, who were as crazy about boating as he was. These were the DC kids, who would rather paddle and splash than watch cartoons or play video games. With their lifejackets buckled tighter than a school principal's belt, they'd hop into their canoes with the excitement of a kangaroo on a trampoline. Under the watchful, albeit googly eyes of Captain Craycray, these kids learned how to row, steer, and occasionally, perform a water ballet when they tipped their canoes unintentionally. "Remember," the Captain would say, his voice as melodious as a donkey's bray, "In the grand city of DC, we may not have hills to roll down, but we’ve got a river to conquer!” And so, amidst giggles, water fights, and Captain Craycray's peculiar boating lessons, the Potomac River witnessed the extraordinary adventures of the boating kids of DC. They were the little champions of the water world, adding a splash of fun to the serious city of Washington DC.

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
