Lori and Keri, two sisters, have built Happy Hands Prep – a private school-style preschool – with the intention of creating a space where children feel safe and eager to learn. Every child has the opportunity to explore and engage in activities in different areas of the school, rather than being confined to one classroom like in traditional preschools.
Happy Hands Prep is more than a school – it is a family. The caring staff are dedicated to making each student and their family feel welcomed and included. If you would like to find out more about the preschool, or take a tour, please do not hesitate to reach out. Lori and Keri will be more than happy to provide you with further information and arrange a time to discuss your child’s future at Happy Hands Prep.
We are excited to announce we are expanding our program to toddlers for kids ages 2 and up. The goal of this program is to get our Toddler socially and emotionally ready to enter our academic Preschool Program. Toddlers will focus on learning through play with a hands-on approach. The toddler program will be separate from our preschool program. Toddlers will have their own scheduled time outside and separate indoor play space when the weather does not allow us to go outside.

Preschool Program
Our Preschool program follows Connecticut State frameworks for kindergarten readiness with a curriculum focused on S.T.E.M, Handwriting Without Tears as well as Alphatales early readers program. Through our program, students engage in learning with a strong focus on Phonics, Mathematics, Science, and Arts. Most parents today are familiar with “S.T.E.M”, a curriculum taught in schools across Connecticut. At Happy Hands PREP we also strive to focus on S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) having modified our program to focus on the Arts; Music, Movement, Yoga, Drawing, Painting, and Baking…in place of Engineering for our young learners. Throughout our entire program, our goal is to help students feel safe and comfortable “to” learn as well as help build the “want” to learn which we feel is the ultimate recipe for creating students who have a love for learning

Kindergarten Program
In preparation for kindergarten, we work with our students to gain strong independence from teachers. Students will be guided through lessons and projects but work will never be done for them. Art projects and writing is 100% your child’s hard work. Our students are also assessed 3 times yearly to make sure they are gaining the understanding and developing as expected for Kindergarten entry.
