The Warner Theatre has been providing entertainment to the Torrington, CT area since 1931 when it was first opened by Warner Brothers Studios. Its grand design by notable architect Thomas Lamb earned it the title of “Connecticut’s Most Beautiful Theatre.” It was the largest and most up-to-date theatre in Torrington, rivaling the popular Palace Theatre and Alhambra Theatre. 

Today, the Warner Theatre continues to be a source of enjoyment for the community, serving those in Bristol, West Hartford, Danbury, Avon, New Britain, Waterbury, Farmington, Litchfield, and Torrington. Families in the area can look forward to a wide range of theatrical performances, musicals, and concerts. All ages will find something to enjoy at the Warner Theatre. 

For over nine decades, the Warner Theatre has inspired generations of moviegoers and music lovers alike. It has become a staple of the community and a symbol of the city of Torrington. The Warner Theatre Center for Arts Education's highly acclaimed Young Actors Series gives students of the WTCAE the unique opportunity to showcase their skills through high-caliber, full-scale theatrical productions on the Warner's magnificent Main Stage and Nancy Marine Studio Theatre stage. Through intensive workshops and the rehearsal process, students will develop new skills and knowledge while experiencing a welcoming, inclusive environment.

YOUNG ACTORS SERIES

​Performance Lab is Warner Theatre Education’s premiere program for High School students ages 14-18. Treated like an AP-level course, students are expected to dedicate themselves to this rigorous program designed to help them develop core theatrical skills including acting, singing, dance, and theater tech. Shows are chosen to challenge and excite students and allow them to rise to meet or exceed all that is put before them. Fully supported by our devoted staff, students work to improve self-reliance and group dynamics in the process of creating a professional-level stage performance.

It feels like going back in time to be in this theater. I have seen it change from dated to stylish. The shows that are presented on stage are incredible. Everyone should go to a show, a play, a movie, or something else at Warner at least once.
