About Southington Public Library

For more than a century, the Southington Public Library has been an essential part of the community. From 1902 to 1975, the Library was housed in a grand Carnegie Mellon-style building – which is still standing across the street from the current facility. When the Library outgrew that space, a new building was built at 255 Main Street. Now, the Library is undergoing a much-needed expansion to meet the needs of our town. The Library offers free programs and services to best serve the people of Southington. We’re open to hearing your comments and suggestions on how we can improve our services. Visit us and let us know what we can do for you. The Southington Public Library has been an important part of our community for over 115 years, and we’re not slowing down. With plans underway for a much-needed expansion of the current space, the Library is doing its best to accommodate the changing needs of our town. We’re always looking for ways to serve our citizens better, so come to the Library and share your ideas. We’d love to hear from you.

Children and Tweens - Birth to 8th Grade
Register for our online program through Beanstack, choose the grade your child is going into this fall, and start reading! For every 5 consecutive days that are marked toward having read at least 20 minutes or completed a summer experience, your child will receive one raffle ticket that is entered into the Weekly Prize and Grand Prize drawings.

Teens - Entering 9th to 12th Grade
Register for our online program through Beanstack, choose the grade you're going into this fall, and start reading! By tracking your reading through Beanstack, you'll automatically be entered into our weekly prize drawing. You can earn more entries by checking items out at the library and getting a raffle ticket.
