About Greater New Haven Shoreline Youth Hockey in Northford, CT

The Greater New Haven Warriors Youth Hockey League provides Connecticut children ages 3-18 the opportunity to play and develop their hockey skills in the Greater New Haven area. Our experienced coaching staff will help each player reach their full potential in a positive, nurturing environment. We have a range of hockey programs from Learn to Skate all the way to Travel teams, giving a variety of options for all ages and abilities. The season runs from August to February, culminating in the CT state tournaments in March. As a non-profit organization, the GNH Warriors rely on the generous support of our sponsors. Your individual or corporate sponsorship will not only support youth hockey in the Greater New Haven area, but also provide tangible benefits to your organization. We hope you will join us in providing a positive and safe environment for children to learn the sport of hockey.

Programs at Greater New Haven Shoreline Youth Hockey in Northford, CT

BeAKid
First Strides

First Strides replaces our traditional Learn-to-Skate program and provides aspiring players between the ages of 3-10 with the opportunity to take their "first strides" in developing an interest in hockey. Lessons take place three weekends in the Fall and is open to players without any prior skating/hockey experience.

Learn-to-Play

The Warriors clinics are designed for players who have completed our First Strides program or a Learn-to-Skate program who are interested in learning the fundamentals of how to play hockey. Players must supply their own equipment and are required to wear full hockey gear.

Mite Development

The Mite development program is designed for players making the transition from Learn-to-Play to more team-oriented play as well as returning players who wish to continue their individual and team skills development. Individual skills will continue to be stressed along with the introduction of team concepts and positioning. There will be a minimum of four teams competing in both cross-ice games.
