About The Main Street Children’s Choir in New Britain, CT
The Main Street Children’s Choir provides a unique opportunity for children in New Britain to learn about and develop their musical skills. From September to April, the choir holds weekly rehearsals to prepare for performances and showcases. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the choir’s mission is to bring together the community through singing and music. The choir emphasizes the development of vocal technique, music literacy and musicianship skills. Each year, the chorus performs at various locations throughout Connecticut and New Britain. The Main Street Children’s Choir is a great way for children to learn about and develop their musical talents in a fun and engaging way.

BeAKid
The Main Street Children’s Choir Program
New singers will be asked to come in for a brief “voice check” where they will sing one or two short songs for our Music Director (for example Happy Birthday or America the Beautiful) to determine which voice type they are. This is NOT an audition, so there should be no fear of rejection! Returning singers are exempt from voice checks. Voice checks typically are scheduled the week before the start of the fall semester; however, they can be scheduled throughout the semester as needed. There is no charge for a voice check.
