Classic Camp
Our classic Nature Camp provides a well-rounded experience for campers of every age. Children have the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of ecosystems and habitats such as ponds, streams, meadows and forests, all around the Nature Center and on local field trips. Animal encounters are a favorite as we introduce our resident frogs, turtles, snakes, rabbits, owls and other birds of prey throughout the week. Children make friends and practice social skills through fun games, test their physical motor skills by climbing on our favorite rocks and boulders, and express themselves creatively through various art projects and activities. Nature camp brings children back to basics and nurtures connections to the natural world.

Specialty Camps
Specialty camps provide an added twist to the classic camp experience. Some specialty camps attend field trips to enhance their experience and they all explore unique topics and activities such as whittling, fishing, adventuring through local landscapes, paddling on the Mystic River, trying out adobe arts, training to be a summer camp counselor, and more!

Summer Nature Camp
We are excited to welcome you back to the nature hood for summer camp! The current plan includes the staggered drop-off and pick-up at the main Nature Center parking lot on Pequotsepos Road. Campers will stay mostly outside, except for extreme conditions. At this time, mask-wearing is only required when groups are forced inside. Our goal is to send campers home socially content, tired, probably dirty and definitely nature centered!
