Swimming Lessons

Fairfield Parks and Recreation offers a variety of levels of Swimming Lessons at both Jennings Beach and Lake Mohegan. The lessons are taught by certified Lifeguards and overseen by our Waterfront Director. American Red Cross Water Safety classes must remain small for safety reasons. To avoid disappointments, we recommend that you register early and include additional choices. Please note that the Red Cross has revised these courses, so carefully review the pre-requisites and course content when selecting the appropriate course for your child. Age requirements are strict.

Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a great form of self-defense. Children learn takedowns, break falls, controls, and submissions. As there is no punching or kicking allowed in Jiu-jitsu it is highly focused on grappling. This helps tremendously with body awareness. Children learn various techniques and will always have the opportunity to practice against an opponent during class.
