About Bristol Girls Little League Softball

BGLLS is the perfect place for young girls to discover the joys of softball. Girls aged 5 to 16 can join the league and learn the fundamentals of the game, while having fun with their friends. It’s a great way for them to stay active, learn new skills, and make new friends. At BGLLS, girls can learn the basics like throwing, catching, and hitting, and move on to more advanced skills like base running and fielding. With an experienced staff of coaches and instructors, girls will be able to develop their skills and find success on the field. BGLLS is a great place for young girls to explore softball. It’s a fun, safe environment with knowledgeable coaches and instructors who will help them learn the fundamentals and develop their skills. With a wide variety of activities and drills, girls can have a great time while learning the basics and improving their game.

TEE BALL

The Tee-Ball Division introduces our youngest players, girls league age 5 - 6 years who want to learn the fundamentals of softball and allow them to experience the value of teamwork. Only the most basic rules of the game will be used in this non-competitive atmosphere. Players will see team play as they learn to hit a ball off a batting tee, throw, catch, fielding, and run bases. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching. Teams are limited to seven to nine team members for instructional purposes.

MINOR DIVISION

The Minors Division continues to stress and reinforce the fundamentals of softball and allow players with less experience to understand the value of teamwork. Players will bat from a player pitched ball. Training will focus on proper throwing, catching, fielding, hitting, bunting and base running techniques. Further emphasis is placed on sliding, base stealing and running on passed balls.

MAJOR DIVISION LITTLE LEAGUE

The Majors Division continues to stress and reinforce the fundamentals of softball and allow players to experience the value of teamwork. Players will bat from a player pitched ball. Training will focus on proper throwing, catching, fielding, hitting, bunting and base running techniques. Further emphasis is placed on sliding, base stealing and running on passed balls.
