Programs at THE INDUSTRY Dance Academy in Sherman Oaks, CA
BeAKid
TINY TOTS (3-4.5yr olds)
A 45 minute class designed to address a child’s developmental needs and create a fun dance experience with ballet, tap and jazz/creative movement. The purpose of this class is to introduce young dancers to the three styles of dance and inspire movement and creativity within a positive environment. Dancers also learn basic steps and terminology in all three styles. For example, all dancers will learn what a “plie” is and how to demonstrate one. The use of fun, age appropriate music engages the young dancers’ minds and bodies. The use of props such as maracas for the “freeze dance” makes the end of class the most fun!

COMBO 1 (4.5-5.5 yr olds)
A 45 minute ballet/tap combo class and/or 45 minute ballet/jazz combo class designed specifically for the early development of physical motion, rhythm, and coordination for 4 and 5 year olds. Children are guided through exercises that will introduce basic ballet, tap, and jazz skills along with the associated vocabulary. A further focus on poise, confidence, creative expression, and coordination are developed in this class while using props such as scarves, fans, and balls. Social skills including group dynamics, self-control, and listening are intertwined all within a fun and playful experience.

COMBO 2 (5.5-6.5yr olds w/prior experience)
A 60 minute ballet/tap combo class and/or a tap/jazz combo class 5.5-6.5 years old continues the skills being taught in the COMBO 1 class. However, this class has an increased focus on technique, terminology, body placement, and strength development, along with an introduction to hip hop. Dance etiquette and discipline continue to be emphasized.
