Families who read at least one book per day can reach the 1,000 book goal before kids reach their Kindergarten year. Pick up your first reading log at any SBPL location. Children can receive a sticker for each 100 books reading log they turn in at an SBPL location and when they reach 1000 books, children can choose a free book to keep.

OG Tutors

SBPL’s OG Readers tutoring program is a free one-on-one tutoring service for 1st - 4th graders who struggle in reading. Students meet weekly with a trained tutor at SBPL location. The program uses the Orton-Gillingham (OG) approach that includes multi-sensory learning, phonics based instruction, and other tools to demystify the process of learning to read. The OG approach, developed for readers with dyslexia, includes great strategies for all struggling readers, including English language learners.
