Our Director, Liz Claytor, has been involved in swimming for the past 35 years and has been coaching for 25. Before founding Splash Swim School, Liz was the Assistant Director of DACA Swim School in Cupertino, California.
Liz's own swimming journey began in early childhood, when she joined a summer league swim team at Los Altos Golf and Country Club. She soon rose to the level of a nationally-ranked swimmer, competing for De Anza Cupertino Aquatics and eventually for the University of California at Berkeley. With this impressive swimming background, Liz is the perfect person to lead Splash Swim School.
For our littlest fish with little or no water experience, we offer a Water Baby class. Through this swim class, your infant or toddler will acclimate to the aquatic environment and begin to lay a foundation for their future swimming skills at a pace that is comfortable for them and their stage of development. Basic swim fundamentals such as gentle submersions, back floats, and learning to climb out of the pool will be introduced and rehearsed each week, all in the context of songs and games for the student’s enjoyment.

LEARN TO SWIM (3+ YEARS)
Our learn-to-swim classes are broken down into specific levels, called Ribbon Levels, to ensure appropriate placement of each child per their water experience and age. Each ribbon color represents a specific set of skills that a child has accomplished or is working towards. Classes are organized by the current ribbon level of the students. For example, a Yellow class has Yellow students who are working toward their Green ribbons. Class levels also evolve with the students, so progress is always moving forward. Ribbon Level classes run for thirty minutes, once-per-week, and the group lessons, our most popular program offering, have student-teacher ratios of 4:1.
