Since 2000, Starting Arts has been a leader in the local arts community, providing quality arts education to students in the Bay Area regardless of ethnicity, ability, national origin, race, skill level, background, religion, gender, sexual orientation or financial means. In an effort to foster diversity and understanding, Starting Arts has implemented a number of outreach programs for underserved youth.
On September 1, 2020, Starting Arts began delivering free arts education programs to Bay Area Title I schools. This bold move provides children from low-income families with access to arts programming they would otherwise not receive. In addition, Starting Arts has increased the number of scholarships available for students attending our Studio and Onsite School Arts Programs by 20%.
Starting Arts is committed to making arts education accessible to all students throughout the Bay Area. By providing free arts education programs to Bay Area Title I schools and increasing the number of scholarships available, Starting Arts is ensuring that every student, regardless of financial means, has access to quality arts programming.
Starting Arts provides quality arts education in 4 disciplines: Movement, Music, Theatre and Visual Arts. Classes are taught by professional artists who offer a unique combination of mastery, experience, and an ability to teach their craft to students both in the classroom and virtually.
