About Portola Family Connections

At Family Connections Centers, we believe that strong, healthy families are the foundation for thriving communities. Our centers in Excelsior and Portola, San Francisco offer a range of culturally-sensitive, multilingual programs to meet the needs of local families. Through our community-based programming and virtual meetings and workshops, we aim to foster a continuum of care from birth to adulthood, engaging multiple generations in the process. Our vision is for safe and healthy communities where children are encouraged to grow and develop.

Early Childhood Education
Our Early Childhood Education provides a continuum of care, beginning at birth. These multi-generational programs are led by skilled staff in supportive learning environments so that children and parents/caregivers can grow together.

Pre-K Programs
• A play-based program that prepares children for kindergarten • Multilingual teachers lead activities in math, science, literacy, arts, and enrichment • Trips to local libraries, take-home books, and workshops support literacy education

K-5 Programs
Our afterschool and summer programs are for children in kindergarten through 5th grade and provide high-quality education that complements the learning happening in schools and at home. We offer tuition assistance and scholarships for families that qualify.
