About SwiftKick Martial Arts - Rancho Bernardo in San Diego, CA
For over 35 years, Brian Cowell has been perfecting his martial arts skills. He is a Fourth Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, a 5th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, a Certified Red Zone Threat Management Knife Defense Trainer, a Certified Scientific Wrestling Catch Wrestling Coach, and a Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Sam Kressin. This experience has enabled him to develop a unique Applied Martial Arts system which combines the best of mixed martial arts and combat self-defense. Brian has also earned a BS in Psychology from San Diego State University and an MBA from the same school. These qualifications have helped him to become a Mental Performance Coach. With the knowledge and skills acquired through his martial arts training and professional education, Brian is now passing on his experience to others by providing martial arts instruction, personal fitness, and life coaching.

BeAKid
Explorers Program Ages 3-5
The unique Explorers program at SwiftKick Martial Arts is the first opportunity for children from 3-5 years of age to explore and develop fundamental martial arts skills. The only San Diego martial arts studio to offer a program for this age group, SwiftKick’s fully staffed team, allows the entire family to participate in training. Experienced instructors work with children at this critical age to develop self-control, respect, and the value of hard work. Students, even at this young age, can set goals and work to achieve them. As children work both inside and outside the studio to exhibit their understanding of the martial arts purpose, stripes are earned, and they move up in rank by achieving the next belt color. Many instructors began the SwiftKick program at a young age, so their mastery of Brian Cowell's vision is complete as they train the following martial arts generation.

Martial Arts for Kids Ages 6-11

Whether a student moves up from Explorers or tries martial arts for the first time in the PathFinder program, the benefits are undeniable. Trained, professional, and experienced instructors bring this age group mastery in communication, relationship building, establishing respect, and goal setting. As children from 6-11 are in elementary school, instructors incorporate and align the values, and character traits with the new experiences children are navigating academically and socially.

Martial Arts Summer Camps
Get your child into the dojo this summer where they can learn the ancient secrets of the ninja warrior. Ninja Camp is a fast-paced, skills-based program for kids between the ages of 7-11 who want to learn the way of the ninja. Campers will engage their imaginations, build character and create lasting friendships as they learn awesome martial arts techniques, conquer epic challenges together and have a bunch of fun doing it.
