With its two-story building boasting a marine and nautical theme, your children will be delighted as they explore the sailboat reading room complete with portholes, mast and sails, and a functioning submarine periscope on the first floor. For mom and dad, the library features several conference rooms, a computer lab, and a media room, as well as a Veterans Resource Center. This center is staffed by volunteers and supported by the California Department of Veterans Affairs, and is available by appointment. STE(A)M Explorers: Mars Rover Robotics
Build, code, and play with robots in this 2-part series of standalone robotics workshops on April 18 and May 16 (must register for each workshop separately). Work on Arduino-based Robotic designs while learning about STEM electronics and robotic sub-systems using cells and bricks, gears, axles, DC and servo motors, sensors, and wireless controllers. Presented by RoboThink.

Learn signs to use with your child! Signing fun with songs, stories, and finger plays as well as tips for using sign language as a preverbal communication tool with your little one.

San Diego Society for Calligraphy
The San Diego Regional Group of the Society for Calligraphy is looking forward to their library exhibit with a showing of original works created by the members. These multimedia works will include a wide variety of styles, colors and forms, and incorporate an array of calligraphic styles. To celebrate the exhibition, a reception will be held at the library on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM where, in addition to viewing the works, there will be an opportunity to meet many of the artists, discuss their techniques and enjoy refreshments. Everyone is invited to attend the reception. We will have members making personalized bookmarks done in stylish calligraphy.
