About SDPL Kensington-Normal Heights Branch Library in San Diego, CA
Kensington has been home to the local library since the 1930s. This beloved community hub is surrounded by a park with benches, a large grassy area, and a playground to entertain young children. The library offers various programs to take advantage of the open space, such as baby-toddler story times and musical events.
The library building itself was remodeled and expanded in 1962, but at 2,300 square feet, it is still the smallest of all the city libraries. Those without access to a car can easily reach the library by walking or biking.
The library of Kensington has brought joy to the community for decades. Its park setting provides the perfect backdrop for the various programs it offers, while its small size makes it easily accessible to all.
