About Balletiquette Dance & Pilates Studio
Sylvia Boaz had an ambitious vision when she founded Balletiquette Dance School in 1999. Her aim was to create a platform to showcase and serve the local community. To achieve this, Sylvia started the Balletiquette Dance Theatre Company in 2004. This non-profit performing company has since become a beloved tradition in the San Diego County, performing a school show every year. The repertoire of Balletiquette Dance Theatre Co. includes Giselle, Coppélia, The Nutcracker, and Le Sylphide, among others. It has also been dedicated to providing performance opportunities for young children and turning ordinary dancers into extraordinary ones.
In 2008, Sylvia added a Pilates Studio to Balletiquette Dance School as a way to strengthen the practice of ballet. The studio also offers a variety of other dance styles to a diverse range of ages and cultures. The pilates instructors are all trained in STOTT Pilates. Balletiquette has since become a multi-faceted institution with a strong focus on ballet and pilates. It continues to serve the local community and inspire young dancers to reach their potential.
