About Ballet Institute of San Diego in San Diego, CA

In 1989, Egle Spokaite from the National Ballet School For The Arts of Lithuania finished her final tests with a Pas de Deux from “The Sleeping Beauty”. After that, she went on to become a Soloist of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater. Her career went from strength to strength and she went on to win four of the most prestigious International ballet competitions around the world, from Japan to Russia to Finland. This success virtually exploded the Lithuanian ballet scene. During her 22 year career at the National Opera and Ballet Theater of Lithuania, Egle Spokaite was awarded with every prestigious state award available for her achievements. She also worked with some of the world's most prominent masters in their fields, including Maya Plisetskaya, M. Rostropovich, G. Kremer, B. Eifman, J. Arpino, K. Pastor, A. Ratmanski and many more. The audience were fascinated by her multifaceted collaborations with these amazing artists.

Elementary Level

This expanded program (5 hours a day) provides knowledge and skills of ballet fundamentals. On these basics, the students will build technique, health, and beauty in the future. We will learn Barre, Center, Jumps, Pre-Pointe, also coordination of working and stable body parts. Epaulement, En Face. Barre and Center ballet workout basics. Jumps: the right-off and several types of ballet jumps. Basic turns. Character dance: Spanish, Slavic, character arm positions, feet position, jumps. The classical compulsory variation. Improvisation and contemporary dance class helps to improve coordination and musicality. Creative task gives joy and interest to study dance art more deeply. Your commitment: 5 hours every day (Mon-Fri) and studio performance/recital at the end of the course.

For the students who are not part of Ballet Institute of San Diego, please inquire for zoom audition or send a link to the video (5-10 min) of student regular ballet (dance) routine practice or performance or variation.
