Research reveals convincing evidence that youth involved in our programs transferred life skills to multiple settings and learned and used life skills through the game of golf. Our curriculum, combined with trained educators, empowers participants with a set of skills that prepares them for a lifetime of new challenges.

This program aligns with national physical education standards developed by the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) and is designed to allow physical educators the ability to adjust lessons to fit their specific teaching situations in terms of class size, time, and facility type.



School Program

We partner with youth centers like the YMCA and Boys and Girls Club to bring the program to life and introduce golf using games that are flexible to the ages and abilities of the kids involved.

Our Community Program gives youth development professionals and volunteer leaders the tools to get started. Our program adapts to any setting, class time, and class size. We provide training, equipment and lesson plans. Youth leaders also have access to First Tee’s online community for additional support, resources, and connection with peers.

The First Tee of the Tri-Valley welcomed our daughters right from the start.  Two of the Pebble Beach competitions had our eldest daughter competing with Senior Tour athletes.  Both girls acquired SO MANY life skills in addition to learning how to play golf!  The First Tee is a fantastic organization, and playing golf has given both of our children the chance to make some wonderful lifelong friends and visit many locations they otherwise would not have been able to. Start on a mat or piece of grass. I enjoyed using every club, starting with the grass clubs. nice practice spaces for putting and chipping.
