About Tools for Tomorrow

This organization offers free, after-school and online arts literacy programs to children ages eight to eleven. These programs provide the opportunity to explore Creative Writing, Art, Music and Theater, and help kids to develop cognitive, emotional, social, multi-sensory and critical thinking skills. Through this hands-on experience, children gain the confidence and skills to express themselves artistically and discover their own creativity. Tools For Tomorrow gives children a “tool for tomorrow”; a coping mechanism for the future and a vision of what their lives can become. By providing free after-school and online arts literacy programs, they are able to foster positive self-esteem, build resilience and gain the tools they need to become successful adults.

Curriculum

Tools For Tomorrow utilizes a specially designed arts literacy curriculum that integrates Creative Writing, Drama, Art, and Music. The goal of this Curriculum is to provide arts literacy by teaching the fundamentals of each of the disciplines and providing a “hands on” experience that gives the children a feeling of success as they learn and create original works in each discipline. Incorporated in this unique curriculum of musical and artistic experiences the children are introduced in dynamic and imaginative ways to famous artists, musicians and writers, as well as other cultures, times and places.
