Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten
Preschool through Kindergarten curriculum adapts the French Ministry of Education’s official program to the bicultural and bilingual context. The overall goal is to allow children to grow in a happy environment where they will acquire a healthy desire for knowledge.

Elémentaire: 1st through 6th grade
Elementary school is a pivotal time in a child’s life. It is the child’s first contact with structured learning. This experience will be a deciding factor as to whether or not a child enjoys school and finds the learning process rewarding. The International School of Los Angeles challenges students and puts them on firm footing for the rest of their educational careers. The curriculum of the elementary school relies on the traditional essentials of reading, writing, and mathematics. Because our children come from many nations, we stress social studies and the concept that we are all citizens of one world. We also emphasize traditional preparation for further education such as work and study habits, neatness, intellectual discipline and respect for the environment in general.

The Artist in Residence Program
Through its Artist in Residence Program, the International School of Orange County welcomes artists of various genres to work with our community on an artistic project in collaboration with students and faculty. The program is integral to our curriculum which exposes students to multiple world views, alternative ideas, and different viewpoints. Each artist works with students from preschool through 5th grade over the course of 12 weeks. They begin by working directly with the students in the classroom to introduce them to different artistic practices and to the creative process. They then collaborate with the entire campus community to develop a piece of art that will remain with the campus long-term.
