    About Mr. D's Music Club in Oakland, CA

    At Mr. D’s Music Club, kids of all ages have the opportunity to explore music and creativity in a safe and inspiring environment. What started as a one-week summer camp in 2011 has blossomed into a full-fledged after school program and summer camp that serves hundreds of kids each year. The club is owned and operated by Stephen Duffy, an award-winning singer and songwriter with over two decades in the music industry. Stephen has produced and composed over a hundred albums and has been commissioned to compose for theater, dance, and video. He is currently the music director at Glenwood School in San Rafael, California, and is dedicated to helping children discover the joy of music. Mr. D's Music Club is widely recognized for its quality programs and the inspiration it brings to young kids. With the guidance of Stephen Duffy and his team of passionate instructors, kids of all ages can explore music and creativity in a safe and inspiring environment.

    Summer Camp

    Summer camp at Mr. D's Music Club is all about music, art, dance, creativity, fun, and friends. Not to mention singing, dancing, acting, laughing, trying new things, performing, confidence-building, and all-around silliness. We pride ourselves in offering 8 - 13-year-old* children a stellar camp experience in the performing arts where every child shines.

    CREATIVE SPACES: Keeping Kids Inspired

    The Creative Spaces is an arts enrichment program for 8 - 12 year old kids. The Creative Spaces is an exploration of the arts, so kids can discover their passions, learn techniques, foster a love for creativity and build an artistic foundation to further their arts education in the areas they find inspiration. The Creative Spaces is a 12-week program (in-person) during the Fall and Spring semesters. Each Creative Space has an art emphasis that the kids will do each week, culminating in a performance for families on the last day of class. In addition to the art emphasis, students will also explore various art forms with a specific focus each week. Twice during the program, we invite professional guest artists to share their art form and passion for the arts.

    Leader-In-Training (LIT)

    The LIT program is designed for 14-15-year-olds to have a work-like experience while developing leadership skills. Interested applicants will complete an online application and attend a Zoom interview. Selected applicants will receive a private registration link to register for two consecutive weeks of summer camp.
