About Camp Fire - Camp Gold Hollow in Nevada City, CA
Camp Fire Golden Empire is proud to be the Northern California council of Camp Fire USA. Since 1939, we've been engaging youth and teens in developing essential life skills. Our goal is to provide unique experiences to help young people find their voice, connect with nature, and develop a sense of purpose. We strive to create a safe, diverse, and inclusive environment where kids can learn to care for themselves, their environment, and the people around them—just as Luther and Charlotte Gulick envisioned more than a century ago. Camp Fire Golden Empire is dedicated to academic readiness, community building, and empowering youth to develop their own unique potential. We are proud to carry on the legacy of Camp Fire USA, and we strive to provide a strong foundation for the next generation to create lasting impact.

BeAKid
Summer Resident Camp
Camp Gold Hollow Resident Camp offers an outdoor experience that is perfect for first time and experienced campers alike. Campers can choose from a wide variety of activities and new experiences; canoeing, cook outs, arts & crafts, archery, hiking, games, and swimming are popular options. All activities are held outdoors. Campers sleep outdoors on cots with mattresses on a platform with their counselor and cabin group friends. Nutritious meals are served family style in the dining hall overlooking Lake Vera. Camp offers a chance for new and seasoned “Gold Hollowers” to put down their electronic devices and spend days experiencing new adventures and building lifelong friendships. Our commitment is to helping youth “find their spark” and THRIVE in a safe and caring outdoor environment.

WoHeLo Family Camp
Welcome to the 9th summer that Camp Gold Hollow has offered an outdoor adventure for families with special needs. Director Jennifer Platt (Crunch) and a highly skilled staff combine their knowledge of outdoor program planning and special needs education to bring a balance between new experiences in an outdoor setting while providing the program accommodations needed to ensure a successful camping event for your family.
