About Camp Ronald McDonald in Mountain Center, CA

Families affected by childhood cancer are all too familiar with the emotional suffering that comes with the diagnosis. Thankfully, Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times® has been supporting these families since 1982. This special facility provides a safe, medically and psychologically monitored environment to help bring back a sense of hope and joy of life. Not only that, Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times® offers year-round residential camping opportunities to children with cancer, their siblings and their parents. At Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times®, children and their families can share in the healing power of laughter, friendship, and fun. This camp provides an opportunity for them to be surrounded by people who understand their struggles and be in a safe place to just be themselves. The camp also offers a variety of activities, including fishing, swimming, archery, and arts and crafts, allowing them to enjoy the outdoors and make wonderful memories.

Summer Sleep-Away Camp

Summer Camp is open to all patients and siblings who are at least 9 years old. Campers are allowed to attend Summer Camp until they graduate high school. We offer 5 summer sessions to choose from, each one is 5 nights/6 days in length. We offer a wide variety of different activities that are fun and challenging which allow campers to explore their creativity, discover new skills and refine existing talents. At Camp, we take pride in our ability to include every camper, regardless of their treatment or ability, in all the fun!

Family Camp

Family Camp is open to ALL first-time families attending Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times®, regardless of the age of their campers. After your first experience, you can continue to attend Family Camp until your patient Camper turns 9, then Campers transition to Summer Camp and families age out of Family Camp. We offer 5 weekend Family Camp sessions to choose from – 3 in the spring and 2 in the fall. Families are allowed to attend one camp session per year. Family Camp is Friday afternoon through Sunday early afternoon.
