KIDS SUMMER CAMP

Daily projects and free play with handbuilding and the potter's wheel. Each day will introduce a new technique so that kids can gain confidence in the process, and develop independence in the studio and with the material. We know, for many of the kids, this will be their first time working with clay, so we will be there to guide each student step by step. Younger kids are often more successful working by hand and quickly discover how easily they can make forms that look like they were made on the wheel. Every day will include a snack break and cleanup time to get the studio and kids ready for the next day. Each piece made by the campers will slow dry for about 2 week (to minimize cracking) before going into the 1st of 2 firings. For pieces that campers don’t glaze themselves, we will be applying one dip glaze color, of their choice, to be decided before the end of their session.
