Summer School

We are pleased to offer ALF Summer School for grades 1-6 with our traditional format at Palm Crest Elementary, also known as PCR. ALF Summer School classes are designed to present educational opportunities that are challenging, enriching, and creative simply “for the joy of learning.” Assistance League of Flintridge Summer School is open to all students entering 1st through 6th grade. Class placement is determined by the student’s grade level in the fall of 2023. Students entering kindergarten are not eligible for the ALF Summer School program. Guidelines for school gatherings continue to evolve and we will follow the La Cañada Unified School District safety protocols for students, staff and all campus areas. Be assured, we will foster a safe and supportive environment for all.

Instrumental Music

Since 1985, Assistance League of Flintridge has administered an Instrumental Music program during the school year for students in grades 4 through 6. Classes are held at the three La Cañada Unified School District elementary schools, either before or after school and at ALF on Saturdays. Students receive one hour per week of instruction in an ensemble setting supplemented by off-campus “sectionals” and extra practices. Subject to CDC and LA County COVID-19 guidelines, students will have the opportunity to perform in two concerts a year, in the winter and spring at Lanterman Auditorium. Advanced* students in String Orchestra and Concert Band will have the opportunity to audition for a solo part in the Spring Concert.
