Founded in 1946, our vision was to create a safe haven for artists from all corners of the world to come together and promote peace and intercultural understanding.
At Idyllwild Arts we believe that it is the duty of artists to use their creativity as a tool to make a positive impact on the world. We have been inspiring and empowering creatives from around the world to come together in this beautiful setting to share their ideas and experiences, and to truly make a difference. BeAKid
Multi-Arts Day Program
The Multi-Arts day program challenges children to use their imaginations to translate creative ideas and images into visual art, music, movement, and creative drama as separate disciplines as well as through integrative arts experiences. Children may come for multiple weeks and gain new discoveries each session.
Students work in large and small groups throughout the day. They will learn how to work cooperatively and collaborate in the arts. This program is designed for children ages 5-7, so parents should be certain their 5-year-old is ready for a full-day program. Parents are welcome to stay the first morning until Morning Sing is over.

Artist Discovery
The Artist Discovery program allows children, ages 8 to 10, to continue their creative journey. Visual art, music, movement, and drama will be explored through creative play and structured activities that allow for learning all that the arts has to offer. Children may come for multiple weeks and gain new discoveries each session.
Students will learn how to work cooperatively and collaborate in the arts. Personal expression will evolve as students become confident in a variety of art forms and learn new skills for creative expression. Parents are welcome to stay the first morning until Morning Sing is over.

Shakespeare’s World: What’s Cool in the Classics
For the serious, young performer: Dive into this fun, hands-on approach to the works of William Shakespeare. You will learn about the life and times of Shakespeare and rehearse an adapted version of one of his plays, which you will perform at the end of the session. You will study the play in depth and take a field trip to see a live, professional production of it.
You will audition for parts and learn simple and direct acting techniques for bringing Shakespeare’s words to life. The production also may include basic stage combat, singing, and dancing, depending on the talents of the individual cast members and the needs of the show.
