The Huntington Beach Art Center is proud to present By Degrees: Art and our Changing Ecology, a juried exhibition of original artworks that seek to bring awareness to the climate crisis. As global warming has become a major concern for people around the world, artists are channeling their creativity and examining the impacts of our changing ecology. By Degrees gives a unique opportunity to observe how the artist’s eye views the severity and scale of the climate crisis. The By Degrees exhibition is an important reminder of the urgency of the climate crisis. As temperatures continue to rise and weather patterns become more unpredictable, it is vital to recognize the need for action. Through the creative lens of the artist, By Degrees explores the environmental themes that we are now facing. This exhibition is sure to provide a unique perspective on the climate crisis and inspire urgent and meaningful responses.

​YOUTH CLASSES

This exciting class will teach students about various types of acrylics, different painting techniques and using different tools. Students will also learn drawing fundamentals including contour drawing, perspective, shading, proportion, still life, drawing figures and faces. $20 material fee due to instructor at first class.

SPRING CLASSES

This fun class is for all kids who want to improve their cartoon drawings. Explore the history and making of caricatures, classic cartoons, current cartoons, Manga, and Anime. Come join in the creative fun! Each week we will add cartoons to our notebooks! All materials provided. $25 material fee for new students and $20 for returning students due at first class.

SUMMER CAMP​​

​Your art camper will learn how to think creatively and to develop artistic terminology and skills in a fun and challenging environment. Campers aged 6-12 will be able to select from six exciting weekly themes. Campers spend the week creating works of art and exploring a variety of media based on their camp theme in a dedicated art studio. Our camp is staffed by professional contemporary artists who will make art camp come alive! A health form for each child must be completed by parents/guardians and turned in on the first day of the camp session. Included in the camp enrollment fee: one camp tee shirt per child and all art materials. Camp size is limited to 15 children per week, subject to change.
