In 1990, a group of dedicated volunteers made a dream come true. Marilyn O’Flaherty, a retired Bradley University art teacher, presented the concept of a children’s museum to the Bourbonnais Township Park District. With the support of a Board of Trustees made up of community and educational leaders, the volunteers worked tirelessly to bring interactive museum experiences to schools and libraries. The result of their hard work was Exploration Station, a testament to the power of volunteerism.
