About Camp Okizu in Berry Creek, CA

For 42 years, Camp Okizu has been a beacon of hope and support for families who have experienced a child's cancer diagnosis. Camp Okizu creates a second family and a home away from home for thousands of patients, siblings and parents. In 2023, the Camp will offer seven weekend family camp sessions, two week-long sessions of sleep away camp for pediatric oncology patients, three-week long sessions for their siblings, two Teens-N-Twenties weekends for kiddos age 18 -25, and two Bereaved Teen sessions for kiddos 13 – 25. These programs will be held at a variety of camp sites throughout Northern California. Camp Okizu is a safe space for families to come together and find strength and hope in their darkest days. Through the years, this camp has offered a refuge and community for those who have experienced the devastating diagnosis of a child's cancer. With an abundance of sessions and activities, Camp Okizu is sure to provide an enriching and supportive experience for everyone involved.

Family Camp

Family Camp is a chance for the patient, siblings, and parents to come together with other families who are coping with the challenges of navigating the pediatric cancer world. This year we will offer multiple in-person Family Camp sessions. Each session will include some family activity time as well as designated times for parents and kids to meet separately for some targeted peer support.

Oncology Camp

Oncology Camp offers summer fun and peer support for cancer patients. This year we will offer two sessions of in-person summer camp for pediatric oncology patients (ages 8-17) who have or have had cancer as well as one virtual session for campers (ages 6-17). Click here for more information.

SIBS (Special and Important Brothers and Sisters) Camp

SIBS Camp offers summer fun and peer support for siblings of pediatric cancer patients. This year we will offer three sessions of in-person summer camp for siblings (ages 8-17) as well as one virtual session for campers (ages 6-17).

Bereavement Program

We will serve our bereaved families during the Family Camp seasons by offering a special Bereaved Family Camp being held May 26 -29 at Camp Arroyo in Livermore, CA.
