Paddling is a sport that all ages and groups can get into. Camp ToknowHim has property running down to the Tennessee River and facilitates trips along the river from Jones Cove, to Coon Gulf and beyond. The canoe trips have amazing views of the surrounding Sand Mountain area and are home to a plethora of wildlife including eagles, beavers, turtles, and a wide variety of fish. Whether you are looking for a place to get the fishing pole out, a body of water to splash in and cool off, or a quiet get away with a group to get back in tune with nature, canoeing is a sure answer to all of the and above. Also, if more excitement is desired, the option of paddling through a dark cave or swinging on a rope swing could be in the itinerary for your trip!

Extreme Night Hike
This night time adventure is sure to be a camp highlight for everyone participating in the trip. After the sun goes down, the trip begins with a 5 ton military truck coming to your camp. Everyone loads up and we hit the non-paved trails with stars above, and Alabama clay below. After about 15 minutes of off road action, we get geared up with helmets and headlamps off in the middle of Camp ToknowHim’s backcountry acreage. From here we descend down into what camp staff calls “The Penitentiary” for some caving and canyon exploration.
