About Camp Laney

Camp Laney, located in Mentone, Alabama, has been creating special memories for boys ages 7-15 since 1959. At this traditional summer camp, your son will receive the guidance and instruction he needs to understand the importance of values that will help him lead a more rewarding life. With a wide variety of fun activities, he will have plenty of exciting stories to tell afterwards. Your son can look forward to a summer of adventure, exploration, and growth at Camp Laney. Our experienced staff of counselors is dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment where your son will develop skills, build relationships, and learn life lessons that will stay with him for years to come. At Camp Laney, each boy will have the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of nature, challenge himself physically and mentally, and make friends that will last a lifetime. With our well-rounded program, your son will come away with a greater understanding of himself and the world around him.

Traditional Summer Camp
Boys are divided into eight different activity groups by age and grade in school. Each group of campers follows its own daily schedule. Horseback, Waterfront, Adventure Sports, Project Adventure (challenge course), Tennis, Team Sports, and Swimming are daily activities. Archery and Riflery meet every other day. There are four activity periods in the morning and four in the afternoon.

Trips
In addition to all of the fun activities at camp, we offer many out-of-camp trips. These trips are designed to help our campers appreciate being outdoors and to allow them the opportunity to demonstrate many of the skills they learn at camp in some of the most beautiful locations in the Southeast.

Snake Show
The Snake Show is very informative. The boys learn about the differences in snakes and how to act and react around these reptiles. The favorite part of the Snake Show is the chance for the campers to help hold the python at the end of the show.
