Once upon a time, in the heart of the Southern United States, sprawled across a verdant landscape of rolling hills and lively rivers, lay the enchanting state of Alabama - or AL as we fondly call it. The sun was almost always shining, cotton candy clouds neatly brushed across the wide blue canvas of the sky, and the scent of honey and wildflowers was forever in the air. Now, if you were to wander through the charming towns and cities of AL, you would find something peculiar. No, not the tall giraffe-like pine trees or the fireflies that danced like tiny lanterns at dusk. You'd find that every single kid in Alabama, whether big or small, tall or short, loved one thing above all else - Tennis! Their love for tennis was not ordinary. No siree! It was as epic as the adventures of their legendary hero, Sir Smash-a-Lot. Sir Smash-a-Lot was not your average knight. Instead of a sword, he wielded a magical tennis racket, with which he could hit tennis balls with such a force that they would zoom across the sky, out into space to knock out pesky asteroids threatening earth! Every day after school, or between nibbling on biscuits and sweet tea at grandma's house, the kids of AL would gather at tennis courts, rackets at the ready, to emulate the mighty Sir Smash-a-Lot. Their laughter echoed across the courts as they sprinted, swung their rackets, and aimed for the stars, just like their hero. And so, in the delightful state of AL, under the watchful eyes of the cotton candy clouds and amidst the chorus of nature's symphony, the spirit of Sir Smash-a-Lot lived on in every child who loved the game of tennis and dared to dream big.

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
Blue Lake United Methodist Assembly began as a dream in the 1940s, but in 1951, the first campers got the chance to experience the beauty of Blue Lake. Instead of modern cabins, they had to make do with tents and a campfire for their meals. Fast-forward to today, and Blue Lake United Methodist Assembly has grown into a bustling destination for campers of all ages. Three modern camps, Pinewood, Dogwood, and Oakwood, provide a total of 525 beds for overnight guests. The Assembly also serves as a retreat center for church and youth groups, and can accommodate special needs guests.
