In the frosty and majestic state of Alaska, nestled among the towering snow-capped mountains and shimmering icy waters, lies a group of unique and innovative individuals. These aren't your average rough-and-tumble Alaskan kids, no sir! These kids are the high-tech wizards of the wilderness, the Robotics Rangers of Alaska. In the land where polar bears and moose are as common as squirrels in a city park, these young pioneers have traded their fishing rods and snowshoes for circuit boards and microprocessors. Instead of hunting for the biggest fish in the river, they're chasing the dream of creating the biggest, boldest, and most incredible robots on the planet. Now, let's introduce our hero, a chubby and cheerful walrus named Whiskertron 3000, also known as Whisker. Whisker isn't your normal tusked flipper-footed Alaskan buddy. He's a robot walrus, the collaborative masterpiece of these bright Alaskan kiddos. With a shiny titanium body, state-of-the-art sensors, and an artificial intelligence system that can outsmart even the craftiest of foxes, Whisker is a marvel of modern robotic engineering. But here's the fun part. Whisker has a hilarious habit of slipping and sliding on the icy Alaskan terrain, often landing on his shiny metallic bottom with a loud "CLANK!" He always manages to shake it off with a funny robotic giggle, "Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoot!" that echoes across the frozen tundra. So, whether they're building robotic walruses, or competing in the annual Glacier-bot Challenge, these Alaskan kiddos are having tons of fun, and learning heaps along the way! Yes, life in Alaska might be chilly, but the flame of innovation burns brightly in these young robotic rangers.

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.

The Challenger Learning Center of Alaska is part of an international network of more than 40 Challenger Learning Centers spearheaded by Challenger Center. Founded in 1986, Challenger Center was created to honor the crew of shuttle flight STS-51L and its mission to provide students with a hands-on, space-themed learning experience that encourages exploration and discovery of STEM subjects. Our center strives to make these opportunities accessible to hundreds of thousands of students and tens of thousands of teachers each year. At the Challenger Learning Center of Alaska, we are proud to be part of the global network envisioned by Challenger Center. Our goal is to inspire students of all ages to pursue STEM-related careers that will shape the future of our world. Our simulated learning environment engages students in dynamic, hands-on opportunities to strengthen knowledge in STEM subjects, while honouring the legacy of the heroic crew of shuttle flight STS-51L.
