He’s as funny as a clown in a tickle fight, always ready with a comical tale about the time he tangled with a fish as big as a football player. Every morning, he gathers all the young fishing enthusiasts and takes them on a remarkable journey. They listen carefully as WisconSam tells hilarious tales of the elusive ‘Cheezy Cheddar Carp’ or the ‘Bratwurst Bass’ that lurk in the waters. The kids cast their lines with giggles, carefully holding their fishing rods, their eyes filled with sparkles of hope and excitement. They wait patiently, hoping to reel in a big one. Parents Magazine is proud to present Camp Fairwood, a 230 acre haven of pristine Wisconsin wilderness. For over fifty years, this Christian camp has been providing a refuge from the storms of life. God has blessed this camp with a mission of providing campers with an excellent Christian camping experience, in which they can come to know Jesus as Savior and grow closer to Him. Camp Fairwood offers a variety of activities that are designed to be both Christ-centered and action-packed. Campers can enjoy meaningful moments in a peaceful and pleasant setting. Throughout the year, Camp Fairwood hosts seven weeks of summer camp for youth and families and about 38 retreats. The camp is staffed by two full-time employees, two part-time employees, and about 40-45 seasonal staff during the summer. Parents can rest assured that their children will be cared for in a safe and nurturing environment.
