Deep in the heart of America lies a magical place called Wisconsin, or as the locals call it, the Cheesehead Wonderland. This dairy-rific state has more to offer than just mouthwatering cheese curds and fabulous fudge. Oh no, my friends, Wisconsin is also home to a set of extraordinary youngsters who are not only cheese connoisseurs but also Yoga enthusiasts! 

Meet Wally, the whimsical, wide-eyed badger, Wisconsin's state animal, and honorary guide to these yoga-toting tykes. Wally, with his shiny coat of fur and a peculiar cheese-shaped hat, is the coolest badger you'll ever meet – and the bendiest! There is nothing ordinary about Wally - he can do a Downward Dog while munching on cheddar, and meditate in Lotus Position atop a pile of Swiss.

Every day, Wally gathers his troupe of tiny humans. They come from all across Wisconsin, from the bustling cityscape of Milwaukee to the tranquil beauty of Door County, carrying yoga mats rolled under their arms and a boundless enthusiasm in their hearts. They're the Wisconsin Wiggly Wigglers, a jolly band of children that are as flexible as rubber bands and as giggly as a rambunctious group of garden gnomes.

Under the vast blue sky, the Wiggly Wigglers follow Wally through a series of fun poses. They become roaring lions, wise old owls, fluttering butterflies, and even pretzel-like twisted trees, all while laughing and learning. Sometimes, they hilariously topple over, only to get back up again with a grin on their faces. After all, in this Cheesehead Wonderland, there's no room for frowns, only fun, friendship, and a whole lot of yoga!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

We are dedicated to teaching our campers about the importance of nutrition, physical activity, and respecting the environment. We offer a variety of activities to help them grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. Our campers learn to take ownership of their own health and wellbeing through experiences that build self-confidence and self-advocacy. 

Finally, we strive to build a sense of community responsibility. We believe in the importance of creating a safe and inclusive environment that encourages our campers to be compassionate leaders. We teach our campers about the importance of being a part of the community and how to be respectful and responsible citizens. We focus on working together in a positive manner and learning how to be accountable for their actions. We provide our campers with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in their community and the world.

At Variations Dance & Arts Center, we understand that each student has unique needs and goals, and we strive to create an atmosphere where those needs can be met in a fun and creative way. Appelton Memorial Park is a beloved community hub for outdoor fun and recreation. It is the largest and most diverse of Appleton Parks, boasting 143 acres of lush green, playgrounds, trails, and a fishing pond. Families can make use of the seven softball diamonds, the Miracle League Field, and the Appleton Family Ice Center. The park also has a pavilion and amphitheater that can be rented out and the Scheig Center and its surrounding gardens are open to visitors. In the winter months, when there is enough snow, areas of the park are groomed for cross-country skiing and a sled hill is available for all ages. Appelton Memorial Park is the perfect place to gather with family and friends and enjoy the great outdoors.

Our wilderness-tripping program is one of the premier programs in the country and is designed to let every girl shine. No prior experience is necessary, just the enthusiasm to get out there and have fun! little om BIG OM brings fun yoga and mindfulness classes to kids & families around the Madison-area! We bring our mobile program to studios, schools, libraries, camps and other locations around the community.

Our team of talented instructors use playful and creative activities to teach the many asanas (poses) of yoga and principles of mindfulness to kids of all ages. We feel strongly that exploring yoga should be a positive experience for kids, and it is our goal to introduce our students to skills and strategies that can help them on and off the mat!

A yoga practice can increase awareness and focus, improve physical fitness and posture, improve breathing techniques, reduce stress and increase confidence, and we love offering kids opportunities to benefit in these ways at a young age. Kids love our classes because learning new ways to use their bodies and minds is exciting and rewarding, and we love seeing our students building confidence in themselves!

At the Fitchburg Recreation Department, we understand the importance of providing top-notch recreational activities for our community. Our two full-time staff members are dedicated to providing a wide variety of recreational programs for our residents. Camp Birch Knoll for Girls is an American camping tradition that has been providing excellence in camp experiences for 77 years. From activities on the lake, to sports and art, it has something for everyone. Campers can pick from a range of options including water skiing, boating, sailing, swimming, tennis, sports, art, jewelry, dance, gymnastics, theater, and more. Each camper can personalize their experience by choosing their own activities for the length of their stay, which can be one, two, four, or eight weeks.
