They can be found in the city of Seattle, near the Fish Market, where you can hear the bellowing of fishmongers and the squawk of seagulls. Meet Sam the Squirrel, a fuzzy-tailed Aikido champion with a knack for cracking pinecone puzzles. Don't let his fluffy tail deceive you; he's got the discipline of a monk and the strength of a bear. When he wears his white gi and blue belt, his eyes sparkle, and his tail flutters with excitement. He’s as swift as the swirling wind and as balanced as an eagle on its perch. Sam leads his fellow Aikido kids in mastering the graceful movements of this beautiful martial art. They practice in a dojo that smells of pine and rain, the true scents of Washington state. No armadillo, chipmunk or raccoon dares to challenge the Aikido kids. Their strength does not lie in their ability to fight, but in their power to protect, respect, and harmonize. But they all have one thing in common: the love for Aikido, the spirit of harmony. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
Oom Yung Doe School offers 8 traditional martial arts courses, ranging from kungfu to tai chi. Our classes offer students a complete physical and mental development, no matter their age. We have classes for children aged 7 and up, as well as those aged 70 and above. We also teach 18 weapon forms to complete the martial arts experience. Our experienced instructors are here to help you unlock your full potential and achieve a strong physical and mental condition.
