He's a tall, lanky fellow with a twinkle in his eyes brighter than the North Star, and a laughter that could make a grumpy old bear crack a smile. Captain Greenbeard is the undisputed champion of tree-climbing, the Picasso of pinecone art, and could tell you if a cloud is a cumulus or cirrus quicker than a frog can catch a fly. With a compass in one hand, and a sketchbook in the other, he guides the troops through the wilderness, turning every trip into a grand, giggly adventure. DEBUT Creative Center & Theater-Studio is a dual-language (English–Russian) program where kids explore creativity, confidence, and self-expression. From theater and dance to fencing and stage performance, children can try new activities and discover their unique talents. Small class sizes let instructors give each child personalized attention, helping them feel comfortable, supported, and confident as they learn. Kids build artistic skills while also developing social confidence, teamwork, and poise on stage and in everyday life. Our programs celebrate each child’s individuality, combining fun, hands-on experiences with a focus on personal growth—all while keeping Russian language and culture an important part of the curriculum.
For more than 65 years, Lotus Lake Day Camp has been a beloved institution in Central Vermont, providing a tradition of day camping for children between the ages of 5 and 14. Situated in a rural setting, campers are able to enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities, from swimming and boating to arts and crafts and more. The camp has been voted “Best of the Best Camps” by the Times Argus for several years in a row, and it is often referred to as a “real Vermont camp.” The camp is situated on 300 acres of diverse habitat surrounding the 16-acre lake, Cutter Pond. The land is home to hiking trails, playing fields, a low-ropes course, lean-to’s, a recreation barn, multiple shelters, and one with bathhouses. A winterized meeting room is also available for campers to use during the colder months. Lotus Lake Day Camp provides a safe and welcoming environment for children to learn, grow, and have fun!
