Nestled in the green, mountainous landscape of the United States, lies the picturesque state of Vermont. It's a wonderland of nature, with emerald hills rolling like waves and forests bursting with a rainbow of autumn leaves. The local kids, known as the "Green Mountain Munchkins," are the heart and soul of the state, filled with an infectious enthusiasm and a creative spark that can light up the darkest winter night.

In Vermont, the Green Mountain Munchkins don't just build snowmen in winter, they create snow-aliens, snow-dragons, and occasionally, a snow-tofu (because why not?). They're known for their Art & Crafts activity, where they transform everyday items into extraordinary masterpieces. You'd be amazed at what they can do with a maple leaf, some acorns, and a dab of glue!

Leading this brigade of creativity is the legendary Captain Crafty, a quirky moose with a paintbrush for a tail! He guides the Munchkins through their artistic adventures, inspiring them to see the world in colors unseen. Captain Crafty, with his googly eyes and rainbow antlers, is as funny as he is wise. He once painted a tree blue and when asked why, he simply replied, "Because the sky was feeling lonely!" 

In Vermont, Art & Crafts isn't just about making pretty things; it's about expressing creativity, having a giggle, and exploring the beauty of nature. Here, paints don't just color pictures, but ignite imaginations. Every day is a new adventure with the Green Mountain Munchkins and Captain Crafty, as they prove that art truly is, the language of the soul...and a whole lot of fun!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

At Davis Studio, we believe that art is an essential part of life, and we strive to make it accessible to everyone. Our art classes and camps provide an outlet for creativity and exploration, allowing participants to explore their own unique talents and interests. Our experienced and passionate instructors are committed to helping our students find their own artistic voice.

We offer a wide range of classes and camps for all ages and abilities. Nestled in the heart of Vermont, Songadeewin, or “Songa” as it’s known to campers and staff, is a place where girls from 2nd to 9th grade can explore their independence. With its unique combination of in-camp program and overnight wilderness journeys, girls can make lifelong friendships and learn to be strong of heart.

The Songadeewin experience is a near century old tradition of play and personal exploration and provides fun-filled days full of adventure. Campers can take part in activities like canoeing, hiking, and learning new skills that will leave a lasting impression on their lives.

From the first hello to the last goodbye, Songa girls create memories that will stay with them forever. Whether they’re playing games, making crafts, or exploring the outdoors, everyone who comes to Songadeewin will take a piece of this special place with them when they go.

At Camp Daybreak, children ages 8-11 in Vermont with a range of social, emotional, and behavioral needs can experience the joys of summer camp. The camp is run by The Vermont Association for Mental Health and Addiction Recovery, the only direct service program of its kind in the state. Every summer, 40 campers come to the camp, each paired with a big sibling—a high school or college-age volunteer—for a strength-based experience. 

Camp Daybreak also provides unique training for the volunteers, as well as much-needed respite for the families of the campers. Since 1961, Camp Daybreak has been an unforgettable experience for all those who take part. 

Families looking to provide a life-changing summer experience for their child can turn to Camp Daybreak—a residential summer camp for kids in Vermont with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. The camp has been in operation since 1961, and is run by the Vermont Association for Mental Health and Addiction Recovery. Forty campers attend the camp each year, each paired with a high school or college-age volunteer. 

This summer program is more than just fun and games—it also provides valuable training for the volunteers, and much-needed respite for the families of the campers. Camp Daybreak offers a unique strength-based experience and has been a life-changing experience for all those who take part.

Hosmer Point in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom offers campers a unique experience. Located lakeside, we provide enriching activities that boost self-confidence and empower young people to make positive changes in their communities. Each day is a jam-packed mix of fun, work, and exploration, with positive role models who encourage campers to challenge themselves and engage with others.

Our camp values of Cooperation, Generosity, Kindness, Respect, Trust, and Unity are at the forefront of our community and serve as guiding principles. We are also part of a sustainable and non-profit foundation with the Craftsbury Outdoor Center, and are dedicated to teaching environmental stewardship.

At Hosmer Point, the campers are our top priority. We strive to create a positive atmosphere where individuals can form life-long relationships and gain the knowledge and skills to make a difference.

Hosmer Point Camp

Keewaydin Dunmore is a summer camp like no other, located on beautiful Lake Dunmore in the heart of the Green Mountains in Vermont. Boys ages 8-16 return year after year for the magic of a Keewaydin summer. Campers come from across the US and international locations, representing different religions, races, cultural backgrounds, and socio-economic backgrounds. Each boy is valued for who they are.

The camp is divided into four “wigwams” (i.e. age groups): Annwi for 8-10-year-olds, Waramaug for 10-12-year-olds, Wiantinaug for 12-14-year-olds and Moosalamoo for 14-16 year olds. Each wigwam has its own living area and waterfront as shown on the illustrated map. Activities and trips are done primarily by wigwam, but the camp also comes together to eat and participate in activities and events.

Established in 1910, Keewaydin Dunmore is one of the most established camps in the country and has long been at the forefront of the American camping movement. Its rich in-camp activity program and extensive trip program provide a summer camp experience that cannot be found anywhere else!

Camp Akeela is a magical place designed specifically for “quirky” kids. Located in Vermont, Akeela is a traditional New England co-ed overnight camp that offers a well-rounded, traditional program with the added bonus of a small, supportive community. Boys and girls ages 9 – 17 who have difficulty connecting with their peers are all welcome, as well as older teens who have completed 10th – 12th grades. 

Akeela is a safe and accepting environment for children and teens with Asperger’s Syndrome, NVLD (or NLD) or a similar neurodiverse profile, as well as those who are undiagnosed but share similar characteristics. Campers can expect to be embraced and understood by a staff that is committed to helping them improve their social skills. 

The Akeela experience is truly transformative. Campers not only have the time of their lives, but leave with improved self-confidence and social skills that they can carry with them long after camp is over. Akeela is the perfect place for “quirky” kids to make friends and have fun, all while learning invaluable life skills.

All campers and their families are surrounded by a warm and welcoming atmosphere and have access to a 24-hour medical team to ensure a safe and healthy experience. 

Camp Ta-Kum-Ta strives to create lasting memories for children and their families who have been affected by cancer. They provide an opportunity for these children to join together and feel normal, to have fun, and to develop life-long friendships. Camp Ta-Kum-Ta offers an extraordinary experience in a safe and loving environment, and is available to Vermont and Northern New York children and other out-of-state children treated in Vermont at no cost to their families.
