From the crack of dawn till the sun dips behind Guardian Grizzly, these Kayaking Kritters can be seen battling the playful waves, their laughter echoing against the mountains. The river is their kingdom, and their kayaks, their trusty steeds. And if there was a dragon, you ask? Oh, they would just paddle faster, steer their kayak with a whoosh, and zoom past it, leaving it gaping and feeling rather silly about itself. These Kayaking Kritters not only have the most fun but also have an iron-strong bond with Captain Barnacle. You see, they believe that each time they conquer a river wave, they bring a smile to the old captain's face. After all, he was the one who taught them, "No wave is too high when you have the heart of a pirate!" And you know what? They prove it every day. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.

Our campers experience a multitude of activities, such as swimming, athletics, performing arts, creative arts, nature studies, and special events. We focus on developing resilience, self-awareness, independence, and personal growth in a technology-free setting where campers can immerse themselves in the program and build relationships with each other. Horizons Day Camp is a place where campers can challenge themselves in a variety of ways and have a lot of fun along the way. We offer a unique experience to the region, focused on developing skills and self-growth.
